📝 Obsidian Markitdown

I have hated using .docx for years especially since I started writing everything in Markdown. Now that AI is at the center of attention more and more people are seeing the value of keeping documents in Markdown format because it’s easily usable by LLMs. That’s one of the use cases for this I guess but for me it’s mostly to transform Word docs and PDFs into a more usable form for my note-taking systems and knowledge vaults. It uses Microsoft’s Python package Markitdown to do the conversion, which is ironic because they are the chief implementers of the very .docx format that I hate lol.
